Carla Dunham, CMO Foxtrot
Carla Dunham is the CMO of Foxtrot – a contemporary evolution of the corner store and café. Foxtrot’s spaces offer all the most-loved aspects of neighborhood cafes, and you can call on the app for the best local beer, fine wines, curated gifts and everyday essentials, delivered from the store to your door in under an hour. Foxtrot is a digitally native, venture-backedd business building a brand that marries the best of neighborhood retail and e-commerce technology. In 2020 Foxtrot will expand to the Washington, D.C. Market opening it’s 11th and 12th locations.
As CMO at Foxtrot, Carla Dunham oversees merchandising and marketing, leading efforts to redefine what a healthy and fresh convenience store, with a core focus on local food sourcing and new product discovery, can be in today’s on-demand world. Her current role builds on previous leadership positions at Equinox, Kate Spade, Amazon, Saks Fifth Avenue and Target.

Emily Schildt, Founder, Pop Up Grocer
Emily Schildt is the founder of Pop Up Grocer, the first-ever pop-up grocery store that showcases hundreds of the most innovative and exciting brands in natural food and beverage, plus home, pet and body care. The shopping experience allows visitors to discover new brands and items in a beautiful, curated, educational environment, unlike a traditional grocery store. Pop Up Grocer has opened two stores in New York, one in Los Angeles and will open their next in Austin, Texas this Summer.

 

 

 

David Rand, COO, Local Foods David began his career working for Icicle Seafoods Inc. in Bristol Bay, AK, considered to be one of the most sustainable fisheries in the world. David served as Director of Farmer Relations and Outreach to the Green City Market (501(c)3) in Lincoln Park, the largest and only year-round farmers market in Chicago.  He connected local growers to new markets and opportunities in the City, and oversaw vendor sustainability and market outreach programs. In his current role as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Local Foods, David oversees all aspects of procurement, sales, and distribution.  Local Foods is Chicago’s only wholesale distributor of strictly local, sustainably raised, farm-direct foods from the Midwest.  Striving to create a robust, hub-based, production and distribution network, Local Foods seeks to revolutionize the path from farm-to-fork.  Their first retail store opened in June of 2015, and features a whole-animal Butcher Shop called The Butcher & Larder, and an all-day café.

 

Meredith Cella is Local Foods’ Market Manager. Meredith has over 12 years of food business experience in a broad spectrum of roles, from kitchen production to consulting. After graduating from the California School of Culinary Arts, Meredith worked as a baker and pastry chef in Los Angeles, and was featured in Vegetarian Times and Natural Health magazines. Meredith went on to manage Joan’s on Third, an iconic LA cafe and specialty gourmet marketplace. After returning to her hometown Chicago, Meredith led teams at Plum Market and Goddess & Grocer before joining The Hatchery Chicago as Senior Manager of Membership & Programming, where she helped many local entrepreneurs launch & grow their concepts. Meredith is passionate about food history and local culture, and loves empowering culinarians, makers, and growers with tools to build their businesses.
